Different Types of Cardiomyopathy

Are you looking for the different types of cardiomyopathy? Understanding Cardiomyopathy is very important since we all know that it is a serious condition of the heart and should never ever be neglected. In this article, you will learn the different types of cardiomyopathy as well as its classification.
Cardiomyopathy has been classified into two: as primary and as secondary. We can say that a cardiomyopathy is considered as primary if no attribute cause is being observed. However, it is classified as secondary if the following causes are being observed like hypertension, heart valve problems, deficiency in the nutrition, viral infections, and congenital heart disease. These conditions mentioned lead to cardiomyopathy’s development that is why it is classified as secondary.
Our health experts have categorized cardiomyopathy into three main types. These types are hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and lastly the restrictive cardiomyopathy. Each type has been defined and explained briefly so as to have general knowledge about it. Here below are the details.
1.     Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. This type of cardiomyopathy has thick and enlarged heart muscles. This condition results in the reduction of the size of the heart’s chamber which then affects the blood distribution to the body. People who have this heart condition normally cause them for sudden cardiac death especially to our young athletes. Mostly, the young individuals experience this type of heart condition.
2.     Dilated Cardiomyopathy. In this type of cardiomyopathy, the person who experiences this heart condition has a weakened heart. Dilated cardiomyopathy which is also known as congestive cardiomyopathy is one of the most common types that are being experienced by most people who have cardiomyopathy. This normally leads to a heart failure to those people who have such heart condition. The reason behind this is that it enlarges the heart cavity which results to poor pumping of the blood. This eventually affects the liver, lungs, and other systems in our body. Abnormal rhythms are also being developed on people with such type of heart condition. Dilated cardiomyopathy not only occurs mostly in men but also to our kids and our women. Meaning, nobody is exempted from this heart condition.
3.     Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. This type of heart condition refers to a group of disorders wherein the heart become stiff. This is because the chambers of the heart cannot properly fill with blood. With this heart condition, the heart is slightly enlarged but it was unable to relax when the blood returns from our body to the heart. This type of cardiomyopathy also exhibits poor blood pumping of the heart.

Detecting the cardiomyopathy symptoms on the early stage will help us address or even prevent this kind of heart condition.
